An Overview of the Services Provided by the Balochistan Institute of Nephro-Urology Quetta (BINUQ)
The Balochistan Institute of Nephro-Urology Quetta (BINUQ) was established in 2007 under the Balochistan Social Welfare Board to provide free and high-quality treatment to patients suffering from kidney diseases. Initially, the center only offered dialysis services, but due to the urgent needs of the public and the rising number of kidney patients, it was expanded into a full-fledged treatment center.
As the number of patients increased, the center faced challenges in providing timely and comprehensive treatment. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the Balochistan government upgraded this center in 2015, transforming it into a modern and well-equipped hospital with advanced facilities to treat kidney diseases.
The institution was developed with the goal of providing free treatment to all kidney patients in Balochistan. The facility not only includes dialysis but also offers complete diagnostic and treatment services. The center works in collaboration with SIUT Karachi, ensuring that patients receive specialized care when needed.
BINUQ operates round the clock, with dedicated doctors and medical staff working tirelessly to treat patients. The hospital also has a team of specialist doctors from Balochistan who volunteer their services.
Currently, the center has:
Treated 62,410 patients in its OPD.
Conducted dialysis for 35,714 patients.
Performed 16,634 diagnostic tests.
Provided emergency services to 8,170 patients.
Offered inpatient care to 7,458 patients.
Carried out 294,679 dialysis sessions, with about 150 dialysis procedures daily.
The center is committed not only to treating patients but also to spreading awareness about kidney diseases. It aims to educate people about the importance of early diagnosis and the prevention of kidney diseases.
BINUQ’s Social Welfare Board continues to work diligently to ensure that no patient is left untreated due to financial constraints. The institution remains a beacon of hope for those suffering from kidney-related illnesses in Balochistan.
