QATAR CONSUL GENERAL NAYEF SHAHEIN R.M AL-SULAITI ATTENDS 10TH IFTAR/DINNER AT GOVERNOR HOUSE
THOUSANDS OF CITIZENS AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS PARTICIPATE; GOVERNOR SINDH EXTENDS A WARM WELCOME
Karachi (March 12) – Qatar’s Consul General, Nayef Shahein R.M Al-Sulaiti, was the guest of honor at the 10th Iftar/Dinner hosted at Governor House Sindh. The event witnessed a large gathering of students from various universities, including SZABUL, IBM, Preston, DHA Suffa, and BBCU, along with citizens from different parts of the country.
Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori warmly welcomed the attendees, who expressed pleasant surprise upon seeing him among them. Participants eagerly took selfies, shook hands, and shared their concerns with him. The Governor assured them that their issues would be addressed promptly.
During his address at the 10th Iftar/Dinner, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori highlighted Qatar’s unwavering support for Pakistan in difficult times and its crucial role in the Gaza ceasefire negotiations. He reminded the audience that Pakistan was granted to us by Allah during the blessed month of Ramadan, emphasizing the need to cherish and love our homeland.
The Governor praised Saylani Welfare Trust for its commendable work in feeding millions daily, calling it a remarkable humanitarian effort. He stressed that Pakistan’s resources belong to its people and that his efforts remain focused on resolving the province’s and city’s challenges despite having limited authority.
He shared that, under his leadership, 50,000 students have been empowered through IT training, over 950,000 ration bags have been distributed, and thousands of motorcycles and laptops have been provided. Addressing the crowd, he said:
“Now imagine, if the people give their Governor full authority, what could be achieved? With proper powers, every individual will have their own home, employment, and access to top-quality education for their children.”
He also sent a stern warning to oppressors, stating that anyone facing injustice should know that their Governor is like their brother and will stand by them. He added that some people may spread rumors or feel unsettled, but his commitment to public service remains unwavering.
During the event, Governor Sindh distributed cash Eid gifts to several attendees, including Samiya Darvesh, Ambreen Qureshi, Muhammad Afaq, and Darvesh Javed Ahmed. Others who received Eid gifts included Maqsood Ahmed, Muhammad Saleem, Shaukat Akbar Ali, Samreen Kosar, Ismail Khan, and Sabah Mir Ahmed.
The daily lucky draw held at Governor House saw Sofia (wife of Muhammad Danish) win a mobile phone, while Jamal Ahmed (son of Jamil Ahmed) won an Umrah ticket. Overwhelmed with joy, Jamal Ahmed expressed his lifelong wish to visit Makkah and Madinah, which has now come true.
Additionally, Zohaib won a 120-square-yard plot in Smart City, and Governor Sindh made a surprise announcement that a lucky winner from today’s draw would receive an Eid trip to Qatar, including accommodation. The Qatar travel ticket was won by Uzma Bibi (daughter of Muhammad Saleem).s
