CHIEF SECRETARY EMPHASIZES TIMELY SERVICES, TRANSPARENT GOVERNANCE, AND FAIR EXAMINATION MONITORING

ORDERS ACTION AGAINST TINTED GLASSES, FANCY NUMBER PLATES ON OFFICIAL VEHICLES.

 

Karachi, April 15: Chief Secretary Sindh Asif Haider Shah chaired a high-level meeting attended by all departmental secretaries and divisional commissioners across the province. The session focused on improving governance, ensuring punctuality, transparency in administrative processes, and safeguarding public interest in development projects. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary strictly directed all officers to ensure punctuality in government offices. He emphasized that senior officers must set an example by arriving on time. “If any senior officer is found neglecting office timings, a report will be submitted directly to the Chief Minister,” he stated.

He also issued clear orders regarding the misuse of official vehicles, warning that any government vehicle found with fancy number plates or black-tinted windows would result in strict action. “Rules and transparency must be upheld across all departments,” he reiterated. On the subject of Annual Development Projects (ADPs), the Chief Secretary instructed officials to plan and execute projects with the public’s welfare and long-term benefits in mind. He stressed that decision-making and service delivery should prioritize the needs, interests, and well-being of the citizens.

Monitoring of Intermediate Examinations

In view of the ongoing Intermediate Examinations, Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah directed all Deputy Commissioners to closely monitor the examination process to ensure fairness and discipline. He also instructed the Divisional Commissioners to obtain detailed reports from all education boards regarding their vigilance committees. To enhance the evaluation of performance across the province, the Chief Secretary announced the introduction of a Task Tracking System that will monitor the activities and performance of field officers in real time. The Chief Secretary concluded the meeting by reinforcing the government’s commitment to efficient service delivery, transparency, and public-centric governance.
