…Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that the message of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) transcends sects and is a beacon of hope for all humanity. He stated this while leading the 9 Muharram mourning procession at his ancestral home in Dharnal, Attock.

A large number of people attended the gathering of 9 Muharram at the residence of the Governor of Punjab. The Governor of Punjab also reviewed the security arrangements of the procession. Governor Punjab highlighted the timeless lesson of Karbala, including humanity, patience, sacrifice, and justice.. He said that Hazrat Imam Hussain’s sacrifice is a guiding light, symbolizing the struggle for truth and righteousness. Furthermore, he said that the battle of Karbala resulted in two distinct paths – the Hussaini path of righteousness and the Yazidi path of tyranny. He said that we should be proud that we are all Hussaini. The Punjab Governor further said that we have to save our country from the scourge sectarianism and foster a culture of peace and harmony. He said that religious scholars should play a robust role to maintain interfaith harmony on the occasion of 10th Muharram.

Furthermore, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said in his message on the occasion of Ashura that it gives us a message of sacrifice, patience, justice and collective welfare. He said that Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions made eternal sacrifices for the survival of Islam. He said that the martyrs of Karbala taught a lesson not to bow down to falsehood and to stand firm against oppression . The Punjab Governor said that the Punjab government should ensure the security and provision of other facilities to the mourners on the occasion of Ashura. He said that it is the duty of all of us to avoid sectarianism and promote unity, peace and brotherhood.
