Significant and humanitarian initiative: Federal Govt releases Rs. 8 mln for convicted prisoners in Balochistan jails

QUETTA: The federal government has released an amount of Rs. 8 million for convicted prisoners in Balochistan jails under the heads of Arsh, Diyat, and Daman.
This fund will be used to secure the release of those prisoners who remain incarcerated despite having completed their sentences, due to lack of financial means.
The amount was received in the form of a cheque by Additional Chief Secretary Home Affairs, Balochistan, Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat. It was issued by the federal government through the Director of Human Rights.
It is worth mentioning that this significant and humanitarian initiative for the prisoners of Balochistan by the federal government is the result of the joint efforts of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and the Federal Minister for Human Rights, Law, and Justice, Senator Azam Nazir Tarar.
On this occasion, the Additional Chief Secretary stated that this initiative would not only improve the judicial justice system but also serve as a ray of hope for the prisoners and their families. He assured that the Government of Balochistan will distribute the funds transparently among the deserving prisoners, enabling them to fulfill their legal obligations and secure release from jail.
He expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister of Balochistan and Federal Law Minister Nazir Tarar, stating that this initiative would not only enhance the judicial justice system but also serve as a beacon of hope for the prisoners and their families.
He further added that the Government of Balochistan will ensure transparent distribution of these funds among the deserving inmates, so they can fulfill their legal obligations, secure release from jail, and reintegrate into society to live a dignified life.
