QUETTA: The Balochistan Charities Registration and Regulation Authority (BCRRA) has clarified that the news published in some newspapers claiming that “registration of 1,500 charitable organizations has been cancelled” is based on a misunderstanding.
In reality, according to an official clarification, the recent notification issued by the Authority pertains to unregistered organizations that were previously registered under older laws such as the Societies Registration Act of 1860 and the Social Welfare Ordinance of 1961.
With the enforcement of the Balochistan Charities Registration, Regulation, and Facilitation Act of 2019, the registration of those organizations are now considered null and void unless they register under the new law.
These organizations have been notified through newspapers to complete their registration with BCRA by July 31, 2025. Failure to do so will result in legal action.
It is important to note that currently, 1,532 charitable organizations are formally registered with the Balochistan Charities Registration and Regulation Authority, and their registrations remain valid.
