Assistant Commissioner and Administrator of Municipal Corporation Gilgit, Captain (R) Adil Ali, stated that operations against illegal encroachments will continue on a daily basis. Teams of magistrates and building inspectors are actively working, and with the cooperation of the public, Gilgit will be developed as model city and its natural beauty will be restored.

He expressed these views during separate meetings with magistrates and building inspectors on Tuesday. Captain (R) Adil Ali emphasized that the district administration is committed to resolving public issues, highlighting the crucial role of sector magistrates in maintaining law and order in Gilgit—a role they have been performing commendably. He directed magistrates to prioritize addressing the grievances of the people.

In another meeting with municipal building inspectors, he instructed them to continue their crackdown against illegal encroachments on a daily basis and to ensure proper implementation of sidewalk regulations without causing undue inconvenience to the public. “I will personally monitor these operations,” he said, instructing the Chief Officer and Town Engineer to prepare a schedule to improve the overall performance of the municipal building section.

It may be noted that Assistant Commissioner and Administrator Captain (R) Adil Ali is striving to transform the Tehsil and Municipal Corporation into public welfare-oriented institutions.
