The prices of flour have surged across the country, with a significant increase of up to Rs300 in the past week. According to the latest data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, Karachiites are now paying the highest price for flour, with a 20kg bag costing up to Rs2,100.
The prices of flour have increased in various cities, including Karachi, Larkana, Khuzdar, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Quetta, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Bannu, and Multan. The price hikes range from Rs200 to Rs300 for a 20kg bag.

– *Lahore:* Rs1,720 per 20kg bag, an increase of Rs120
– *Sargodha:* Rs160 increase
– *Bahawalpur:* Rs166.66 increase
– *Gujranwala:* Rs83 increase
– *Sialkot:* Rs83 increase
The price hike is expected to put additional burden on the common man, especially the low-income households. The government needs to take immediate measures to control the prices of flour and stabilize the market .
