ANF’s Major Crackdown: 231 KG Drugs Worth Over Rs. 40 Million Seized Across Pakistan — International and Domestic Drug Trafficking Networks Busted

ISLAMABAD, Oct 8: In a major offensive against the growing menace of narcotics, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has launched a series of high-intensity operations across the country, successfully dismantling several drug trafficking networks. During six operations conducted in various cities, the ANF arrested five suspects and recovered 231 kilograms of drugs worth more than Rs. 40 million, dealing a severe blow to both domestic and international drug smugglers.


International Drug Interdiction:

1. At Allama Iqbal International Airport’s cargo shed, the ANF intercepted a parcel from the USA and recovered 2 kilograms of weed, foiling an attempt to smuggle narcotics through air cargo.

2. In Karachi, at a courier office located on Shahrah-e-Faisal, the force seized 2.7 kilograms of ice (crystal meth) that had been soaked in carpet strips and was destined for Australia, highlighting the sophistication of international drug syndicates.

Domestic Drug Interdiction:

1. Near Chungi No. 26, Islamabad, ANF recovered 3.6 kilograms of hashish and 1.2 kilograms of opium from a vehicle. The accused was taken into custody on the spot.

2. In another major action near Bahria Town, Rawalpindi, the ANF recovered 25 grams of cocaine and 500 psychotropic tablets weighing 279 grams from a vehicle. Two suspects were arrested.

 


Inter-Provincial Drug Interdiction:

1. Near the Motorway Toll Plaza, Islamabad, a vehicle was intercepted, and 1.2 kilograms of hashish were recovered. The accused was apprehended.

2. In Jamshoro, near the Pataro Toll Plaza, ANF seized a massive 220 kilograms of cannabis from a vehicle and arrested the trafficker on the scene.

 


Legal Action:
All cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA) 1997, and investigations are underway to identify the broader networks behind these smuggling attempts.

ANF Spokesperson’s Statement:
A spokesperson for the ANF reaffirmed the Force’s zero-tolerance policy toward drug trafficking and its unwavering commitment to eradicating the narcotics trade from Pakistan. The spokesperson warned that strict action will continue against all individuals and groups involved in the supply, transport, or concealment of illegal substances, whether operating locally or across borders.
