LAHORE, Oct 11 (:Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said that the officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army fought terrorism with unmatched bravery and determination, while some elements continue to obstruct peace efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Addressing the media here on Saturday, the information minister said that “Tehreek-e-Inteshar” (PTI) is the only political group that shows no regard for the sacrifices of the martyrs or the integrity of Pakistan. He said the party’s only interest lies in creating division in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, worsening the situation, and providing safe havens to terrorists.
Tarar said that the founder of PTI and his party had acted as facilitators and supporters of terrorists at both national and international levels, adding that their conduct has always been detrimental to the country’s unity and stability.
He said that Pakistanis are the only nation whose children have also sacrificed their lives in the war against terrorism, citing the APS tragedy as a heartbreaking example of courage and sacrifice. “The children of APS wrote the story of sacrifice with their blood,” he said, adding that the people of Khuzdar and countless others also laid down their lives for Pakistan.
The Information Minister said the brave people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa created a tale of eternal sacrifices, while every section of society — including soldiers, civilians, traders, doctors, engineers, and children — contributed to the fight against terrorism.
He said the National Action Plan was implemented with a firm resolve to defeat terrorism, and the entire nation stood united in this mission. “The sacrifices of the soldiers, citizens, and children of Pakistan cannot be forgotten,” Tarar emphasized.
Tarar said that operations Zarb-e-Azb and Radd-ul-Fasaad played a crucial role in eliminating terrorism, restoring peace, and bringing life back to markets and playgrounds across the country.
Condemning terrorist acts, he said that Fitna Al-Khawarij has no connection with religion or Islam, and attacks on mosques and innocent people are never permissible under any circumstances. “The blood of our scholars also irrigated the homeland,” he added.
“The Pakistan Army defeated terrorism with the support of the people,” Tarar reiterated, recalling that there was a time when terrorism struck daily, but now peace has been restored. “The entire nation salutes the martyrs whose sacrifices brought stability and hope to Pakistan,” he said.
Criticizing the PTI founder, the minister remarked, “A person sitting in jail wants to shine his politics over dead bodies,” while reminding that the Pakistan Peoples Party always raised the slogan of ‘Pakistan Khappay’ (Long Live Pakistan) to promote unity and peace.
