Pakistani folk and Sufi singer Sanam Marvi captivated a full house at the Theatre de la Ville in Paris on Sunday with her mesmerizing performance that showcased the spiritual and musical richness of Pakistan.

The concert, co-organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in France and the Theatre de la Ville, offered Parisians a rare opportunity to experience the depth and diversity of Pakistani Sufi music.

Ambassador of Pakistan to France, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, lauded Sanam Marvi’s soulful performance and extended gratitude to the Theatre’s management for reviving the tradition of bringing Pakistani music to Paris — a city with deep artistic roots. She also acknowledged Soudabeh Kia, Conseillère Musique du Monde, for her continued efforts in promoting international art and music, recalling that legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan had also performed at the same venue in the past.

Ambassador Baloch emphasized that in today’s interconnected world, cultural diplomacy plays a vital role in connecting people, societies, and nations. She expressed delight over the success of Sanam Marvi’s sold-out concert and hoped for further collaborations between Pakistan and France in the performing arts.

Reflecting on her performance, Sanam Marvi said, “Music is the spice of life, and we love our traditional melodies.” She expressed gratitude for the overwhelming appreciation from the international audience. Born in Sindh, Marvi began singing at an early age and has since earned global recognition for her distinctive Sufi and folk style.

The management of Theatre de la Ville appreciated the collaboration, noting that such performances allow French audiences to enjoy international music and celebrate cultural diversity. They reiterated that “music has no boundaries,” and their goal is to strengthen love for global art by introducing audiences to talented artists and the rich cultures they represent.
