QUETTA: Former international weightlifter Muhammad Zubair Yusuf Butt has urged athletes to avoid banned substances, highlighting health risks and potential career-ending consequences.

Speaking to media, Butt emphasized the importance of ethical training, strict adherence to anti-doping regulations, and the promotion of a clean sports culture. He noted the role of Major General (Retd.) Muhammad Akram Sahi in nurturing athletes to international success, including Arshad Nadeem’s gold medal at the Paris Olympics.
Butt added that anti-doping awareness seminars, organized with COMSATS University, aim to educate athletes, prevent misuse of harmful substances, and ensure fair competition.
