KORT Distributes 500 Wheelchairs and 500 Sewing Machines in Quetta

QUETTA, Nov 20:

Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust (KORT) distributed 500 wheelchairs and 500 sewing machines among deserving and differently-abled persons during a ceremony at Shaheed Shafique Ahmed Khan Government Boys High School, Quetta.

The event was attended by Parliamentary Secretary for Social Welfare Haji Wali Muhammad Nurzai and Provincial Education Minister Raheela Hameed Durrani.

Speaking on the occasion, Nurzai said helping vulnerable groups is not only a social responsibility but an essential act of humanity. He praised KORT founder Chaudhry Muhammad Akhtar for his long-standing humanitarian work, noting that such support provides both immediate relief and long-term economic empowerment.

Minister Durrani said every citizen holds a responsibility to assist weaker segments of society and commended KORT’s efforts for promoting hope, dignity and self-reliance.

Nurzai added that the Balochistan government is committed to welfare initiatives and views such projects as vital steps toward inclusive social development.
