Seminar on Karez System in Kech District Highlights Ancient Water Management Practices and Preservation Efforts

 University of Turbat, in collaboration with the Netherlands’ Erasmus University International Institute of Social Studies, hosted a seminar on “The Importance and Challenges of the Karez System in Kech District.” VC Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan was chief guest. The session included a screening of the award-winning documentary Forgotten Flows of Karez and a panel discussion highlighting the system’s socio-economic, cultural, and engineering significance. Experts urged government, communities, and civil society to work together for the preservation and restoration of this ancient water management system.
