Islamabad, December 7:

President Asif Ali Zardari extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of Sindh, the Sindh government, and Sindhi communities worldwide on the occasion of Sindhi Cultural Day, celebrating the province’s rich heritage and its pivotal role in Pakistan’s history.

The President highlighted Sindh’s unique constitutional and cultural identity, established after its separation from the Bombay Presidency in 1936. He recalled that Sindh was the first province whose Assembly passed the historic Resolution for the creation of Pakistan, playing a decisive role in shaping the nation’s destiny.

Noting the province’s inclusive social fabric, President Zardari said that Sindh is home to a significant Urdu-speaking population, demonstrating harmony, coexistence, and broad-mindedness. He praised Sindhi as one of Pakistan’s most developed languages, reinforced by numerous newspapers, television channels, and radio networks that continue to preserve its cultural richness.

“Sindhi Cultural Day reminds us of the values of tolerance, pluralism, and peaceful coexistence,” he said, adding that the province’s culture is a living symbol of patience, peace, and national unity. President Zardari urged that these values be passed on to future generations, strengthening the bonds between provinces and fostering harmony across the country. He prayed that Sindh’s cultural heritage continues to shine globally as a proud emblem of Pakistan’s identity.
