Austrian Ambassador, British High Commission Delegations Call on Dr. Sham Sunder K. Advani

KARACHI: Delegations from the Embassy of Austria and the British High Commission held a cordial meeting with Member Sindh Assembly and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Minority Affairs, Dr. Sham Sunder K. Advani, at his office on Wednesday.

The Austrian delegation was led by His Excellency Mr. Wolfgang Oliver Kutchera, accompanied by Professor Stephen Hammer, Ms. Tushna Patel, and Mr. Cyrus Kanga.

The British High Commission delegation included Ms. Charlotte Ojinnaka (Head of Strategic Engagement & Understanding / Head of Internal Politics, British High Commission Islamabad), Mr. Cormac Drelan (Second Secretary Political, British High Commission Islamabad), and Ms. Huda Ikram (Senior Political Advisor, British Deputy High Commission Karachi).

During the meeting, the participants discussed bilateral diplomatic relations, matters of mutual interest, the promotion of interfaith harmony, and welfare initiatives for minority communities in Sindh. The delegations appreciated the efforts of the Sindh government, particularly the Department of Minority Affairs, for its continued initiatives aimed at protecting the rights, welfare, and social inclusion of minority groups.

Dr. Sham Sunder K. Advani warmly welcomed the dignitaries and briefed them on various measures taken by the provincial government to promote interfaith harmony and improve the socio-economic conditions of minority communities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Advani presented the guests with traditional Sindhi Ajrak (shawls) as a gesture of Sindh’s cultural hospitality.
