More than 78,000 IBOs conducted during 2025 in Balochistan: ACS

QUETTA: The Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Balochistan, Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat has disclosed that more than 78,000 intelligence-based operations were conducted during the year 2025 in the province.
During these IBOs, 707 terrorists were killed while some 450 people, including security personnel and civilians, lost their lives in various incidents of terrorism in the province.
The ACS Home said that the biggest achievement of the current year was declaration of the banned BLA as a terrorist organization by the United States.
He maintained that action would be taken through Interpol against those who carry out terrorist activities in Pakistan while operating from other countries.
Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat made these remarks while addressing press conference along with Deputy Inspector General of CTD Aitezaz Ahmed Goraya, here at the Central Police Office, on Sunday.
He said that if mishaps can be prevented through the temporary closure of national highways and data services, then there is nothing wrong with it.
He also said that the security forces have made great sacrifices and ensured the protection of the lives and property of citizens.
The Additional Chief Secretary Home stated that reports regarding the abducted Assistant Commissioner Ziarat indicate that he has been martyred; however, no ransom was paid for the recovery of the Assistant Commissioner Tump.
He further said that there has been no progress so far regarding the individuals abducted from the Shaban picnic point, and the situation is currently under review.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG CTD Aitezaz Ahmed Goraya said that three key operatives of a proscribed organization have been arrested in connection with the murder of SHO in Kharan.
He added that weapons snatched from security personnel during the attack on the Judicial Complex in Kharan were also recovered from the suspects.
SHO Qasim Baloch was martyred by armed assailants in Kharan in October this year.
The DIG CTD stated that all actions are being carried out within the bounds of the law, and that firm action will continue against anyone who challenges their operations aimed at ensuring the safety of the lives and property of the public.
