CM Balochistan Prioritizes Modern Public Transport, Reviews Expansion of Green Bus Service in Quetta
Quetta, December 18: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has
said that providing modern, safe and quality public transport to urban
residents is among the top priorities of the provincial government.
He was chairing an important meeting regarding the proposed extension
of the Green Bus Service up to the Harley Health Services Projects
Area. The meeting reviewed the progress of the expansion plan,
proposed routes, travel facilities for citizens—particularly patients
and healthcare staff—and various measures to further improve the
standard of public transport in the provincial capital.
The chief minister was briefed that the extension of the Green Bus
Service would ensure easy and timely access for the public to the
Harley Health Services Projects Area, significantly facilitating
patients, attendants and medical personnel.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti directed the concerned authorities to complete the
expansion project within the stipulated timeframe, stressing that no
compromise would be made on service quality, cleanliness, punctuality
and passenger convenience. He also instructed that route planning
should be carried out in a manner that maximizes public benefit, with
special consideration given to the needs of senior citizens, women,
patients and persons with disabilities.
The meeting was attended by Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Mir
Liaquat Ali Lehri, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan,
Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Zahid Saleem,
Principal Secretary Babar Khan, Secretary Transport Hayat Khan Kakar,
Commissioner Quetta Division Shahzaib Kakar, Deputy Commissioner
Quetta Meharullah Badini, along with other relevant officials, who
presented various proposals regarding effective implementation of the
project.
