Islamabad, Jan 7: A delegation of 136 probationary officers from the 53rd Common Training Programme (CTP) of the Civil Services Academy visited the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Headquarters to gain insight into Pakistan’s evolving social protection framework.
Secretary BISP Amer Ali Ahmad briefed the officers on landmark reforms, including the activation of Social Protection Wallets for over 10 million women beneficiaries under the Prime Minister’s cashless economy vision. He said 5.67 million free SIMs have already been distributed nationwide to ensure transparent and secure payments.
He outlined flagship initiatives such as Benazir Kafaalat, Benazir Taleemi Wazaif, Benazir Nashonuma and the National Socio-Economic Registry, which now covers 38.7 million households. The visit concluded with an interactive session and presentation of a commemorative shield to the Secretary.
