Pishin: Deputy Commissioner Mansoor Ahmed Qazi has confirmed that prompt and effective action by the district administration has restored public safety, with roads previously blocked by heavy snowfall now reopened to facilitate travel for local residents. He added that relief and rescue operations have seen marked improvements.
Addressing residents in the field, the Deputy Commissioner said all relevant departments have been placed on high alert and are actively engaged in immediate response measures. Salt spreading on major highways commenced as the snowfall began, while heavy machinery and personnel worked across remote mountainous regions to clear roads and maintain vital connectivity.
He urged tourists and locals to adhere strictly to administrative advisories and avoid unnecessary travel. He also cautioned against the continuous use of heaters in enclosed vehicles due to suffocation risks, recommending intermittent use, and advised drivers to exercise extreme care on slippery roads.
Deputy Commissioner Qazi highlighted that field officers are maintaining night-time vigilance to monitor conditions, assist residents, and ensure smooth traffic flow. Citizens, particularly in high-altitude areas such as Tehsil Barshore and Toba Kakri, where snowfall has exceeded six inches, were advised to stay updated on weather developments.
He emphasized that he personally visited affected areas during the snowfall to oversee operations, encourage deployed personnel, and safeguard travelers, ensuring that the district’s emergency response remained swift and effective.
