Kalat, February 23: The Price Control Committee in Kalat has stepped up measures to regulate prices and protect consumers during the holy month of Ramadan, following the special instructions of Deputy Commissioner Munir Ahmed Durrani.
Supervised by Assistant Commissioner Tahir Sanjrani and Tehsildar Haji Abdul Ghaffar Lehri, the committee carried out extensive inspections across local markets. Several shopkeepers were fined and issued warnings for failing to display official price lists as required by regulations.
Deputy Commissioner Munir Ahmed Durrani highlighted that prices of essential commodities have been reduced during Ramadan to provide relief to citizens. Traders have been instructed to adhere strictly to the official rate lists and to prominently display prices, ensuring shoppers can make informed purchasing decisions.
He cautioned that any attempts at artificial inflation or arbitrary pricing will not be tolerated. The Price Control Committee will maintain daily monitoring of markets throughout Ramadan to uphold fairness and protect public interests.
