LAHORE: A special Iftar dinner was hosted at Governor House Lahore in honor of orphan children on the occasion of World Orphans Day, where Eid gifts and financial assistance were distributed among children and their mothers.
The event welcomed around 260 orphan children and 60 courageous mothers, with volunteers from Alkhidmat Foundation receiving the guests. Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Alkhidmat Foundation Secretary General Syed Waqas Jafri, civil society members and volunteers attended the ceremony.
Speakers at the event appreciated the role of Alkhidmat Foundation in supporting orphan children through education, welfare and social development initiatives. Addressing the gathering, Secretary General Syed Waqas Jafri said the organization remains committed to ensuring a brighter future for orphan children across Pakistan.
He stated that Alkhidmat Foundation is currently supporting 34,383 orphan children across all four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, while assistance programs are also continuing for orphan children in Gaza.
The ceremony concluded with guests sharing Iftar with the children and distributing Eid gifts and financial assistance to the mothers.
