Quetta, March 14: The Balochistan Revenue Authority has decided to introduce the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (e-IMS) Rules 2026 as part of efforts to promote transparency and digitalization in the provincial taxation system.
The new framework is being introduced in line with the vision of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and will be implemented under the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services Act 2015.
According to the authority, the system will integrate the invoicing platforms of registered service providers with the BRA’s digital platform, enabling real-time monitoring of taxable service transactions.
Officials said the initiative is intended to enhance compliance with tax laws, discourage underreporting, and modernize the province’s tax administration.
Under the proposed rules, measures such as surprise inspections, possible video monitoring, and a customer prize scheme will also be introduced to encourage consumers to obtain proper receipts from service providers.
The authority added that technical support will be provided to businesses to facilitate smooth implementation of the system.
Officials believe the reform will not only increase revenue collection but will also significantly improve documentation and transparency within the services sector in Balochistan.
