Addressing participants, the party leaders alleged that Sindh was facing an artificial water shortage and claimed that water was being diverted to canals in Punjab, affecting the province’s share. They called for the closure of the Chashma-Jhelum, Taunsa-Panjnad and New Jalalpur canals and demanded that Sindh receive its share of water in accordance with applicable water agreements. They also called for the suspension of the construction of the Bhasha Dam and other proposed dams and canals.

The speakers further criticized rising inflation, unemployment and the prevailing law and order situation, while opposing corporate farming projects and alleging that they threatened the rights of local farmers. They also demanded the removal of the reported encroachment on the land designated for the annual memorial gathering of Rasool Bux Palijo.

Participants further called for the safe recovery of Priya Kumari and all other missing persons, urging the relevant authorities to take effective measures. The Awami Tehreek leaders also expressed opposition to the proposed 28th Amendment, describing it as detrimental to Sindh’s interests.
