SHIKARPUR, July 18: Shikarpur Police arrested two wanted suspects in an alleged armed encounter after foiling a reported robbery attempt in the Stuart Ganj Police Station limits, recovering weapons from their possession, according to an official statement issued by the Office of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Larkana Range.
Police identified the arrested suspects as Jahangir alias Jani Mahar and Shahnawaz alias Shano Mahar, who were taken into custody in an injured condition following an exchange of fire on Jagan Link Road.
According to police, the suspects were wanted in multiple criminal cases registered in Shikarpur and Sukkur districts, including robbery, theft, narcotics-related offences and previous police encounter cases. They were described as active criminals with a history of serious offences.
The injured suspects were shifted to a hospital for medical treatment, while further investigation and legal proceedings are underway.
