The suspects fled with their CD motorcycle, three mobile phones including an iPhone, and cash. An FIR has been lodged at Tando Adam police station, and investigations are ongoing.

In the nearby village of Chaar Male, a clash between two groups of the Mehkani community left Punhoon Mehkani seriously injured after being attacked with axes. Separately, at Foji Mor, Tando Adam, a speeding car collided with a Chingchi rickshaw, injuring Hemoon Bheel, a resident of Berani. He was first taken to Taluka Hospital and later referred to Hyderabad for further treatment. Police seized the vehicle, although no FIR has been registered yet.

Political Controversy over BISP

PPP leaders in Sanghar strongly criticized Jamaat-i-Islami chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman for calling the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) a “fraud.” In a joint statement, district and taluka PPP leaders, including Imran Dhamrah, Mir Murtaza Dahri, Ali Murad Duzkani, Akhtar Hussain Nizamani, Akhtar Hussain Zardari, and Achar Saand, said BISP provides financial assistance to widows, poor women, and students, along with housing support and solar panels for underprivileged families. They urged Hafiz Naeem to recognize BISP as an internationally acclaimed social safety initiative and warned against politicizing charitable organizations.

PPP Highlights Flood Relief and Climate Action

Shazia Mari, Central Spokesperson of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP), addressed concerns regarding flood victims, stressing that raising awareness should not be misconstrued as criticism. She noted that 2.1 million houses are being built in Sindh for flood-affected families and highlighted the empowerment of women through land and industry ownership. Mari emphasized BISP’s role in distributing Rs70 billion in flood relief in 2022 and assisting provincial governments in relief efforts.

She underscored that Pakistan faces severe consequences of climate change, and PPP will continue advocating for rehabilitation of flood-affected families and farmers.
