Lahore, October 2, : Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed that the ongoing survey in flood-affected districts be conducted with complete transparency, making it clear that she would not tolerate denial of due rights to any flood victim.
According to an updated report released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), as many as 1602 teams comprising 10,000 members are carrying out door-to-door surveys across 27 districts. The teams have so far registered:
61,016 flood victims
42,120 farmers reporting crop losses
50,421 acres of affected land
18,086 damaged houses
810 individuals who lost livestock, with records of 5,813 perished animals
The survey teams include representatives from the Urban Unit, Livestock, Agriculture, and Revenue Departments, working in coordination with the Pakistan Army.
The DG PDMA informed that after verification, financial assistance will begin next week through the Bank of Punjab.
CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif appreciated the efforts of the survey teams and reaffirmed her government’s commitment to compensating all flood victims without discrimination.
