Under the vision of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the provincial government is taking significant steps to establish a modern, safe, and high-quality transport system. The Quetta Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project is now moving forward with practical implementation.

On 5 December 2025, a key ceremony was held in Islamabad at the Economic Affairs Division, where the Balochistan Transport Department and the Asian Development Bank signed an agreement for the Quetta BRT project. Secretary Transport, Hayat Kakar, represented the provincial government, while Dr. Sajjad Baloch, Director of the Balochistan Traffic Engineering Bureau, and officials from the Economic Affairs Division were also present.

The agreement paves the way for an efficient public transport system in Quetta, aimed at reducing traffic congestion, improving urban facilities, and supporting sustainable city development. The provincial cabinet had approved the project on 16 October 2025, and the recent signing marks a major step toward its implementation.
