Chairman of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Organization Muhammad Ahsan Nagar, President Syed Riffat Zaidi, Secretary General Syed Riaz Shah, Senior Vice Chairman Nawabuddin Qureshi, Vice Chairman Shahzad Qureshi, Coordinator Hamid Ali Sheikh, and Members of the Executive Committee Muneeb Khan, Muhammad Ahmed Arain, Qari Saadullah Khan and Muhammad Nauman Memon have strongly condemned, in the harshest possible words, the shameful, condemnable and deeply disturbing incident in which the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, forcibly removed the hijab of a Muslim woman.
They stated that this act is not only a grave insult to the personal freedom and dignity of a woman, but also a blatant attack on the religious identity of Muslims, reflecting state-sponsored oppression and an extremist mindset. Chairman Istehkam-e-Pakistan Organization Muhammad Ahsan Nagar said that hijab is a fundamental religious, moral and constitutional right of every Muslim woman, and any attempt by power, authority or government to deprive her of this right constitutes sheer injustice, authoritarian thinking and a serious violation of human rights.
He added that such behavior by an elected Chief Minister exposes the real face of the double standards and so-called secularism practiced against Muslims in India. This incident is not an isolated or accidental act, but part of a continuous pattern of organized hatred, discrimination and oppression against Muslims, particularly Muslim women, in India.
Restrictions on hijab, mockery of religious symbols and systematic marginalization of Muslims are pushing India towards a dangerous fascist state, where religious freedom has been reduced to nothing more than a hollow slogan.
Istehkam-e-Pakistan Organization demands immediate and exemplary legal action against all those involved in this incident. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar must offer an unconditional apology to the nation and the international community, and full protection and justice must be ensured for the affected woman. Silence in this matter will be considered tantamount to supporting oppression.
The organization urges international human rights bodies, the United Nations, the OIC and other global forums to take immediate notice of the ongoing religious oppression, Islamophobia and human rights violations against Muslims in India, and to hold the Indian government accountable for protecting the religious and civil rights of Muslims.
At the end, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Organization reiterates its unwavering commitment to raise its voice at every forum for the dignity, hijab and religious freedom of Muslim women across the world, and declares that it will never accept any form of religious coercion.
