Independent Report | 28-12-2025
As 2025 comes to a close, Balochistan’s government reflects a year of mixed performance. Key achievements include expansions in education, transport, and urban development, while certain sectors faced delays. The Green Bus service was extended with 12 new buses, alongside the launch of five Pink Buses for women’s safe travel in Quetta. The Quetta Development Plan improved major roads, removed illegal parking, and enhanced city aesthetics. Education saw 32 billion PKR allocated for school upgrades, teacher salaries, scholarships, and reopening 3,200 closed schools. Vocational training and youth centers were also launched. However, delays persisted in health, agriculture, and communication projects, including tractor distributions, hospital partnerships, and telecom initiatives. Analysts note that focusing on these lagging areas could accelerate provincial development, suggesting cautious optimism for 2026 if current momentum continues.
