Life in Nasirabad district has come to a near standstill as an intense cold wave, accompanied by dense fog and freezing winds, continues to grip the region. Over the past several days, temperatures have dropped sharply, confining residents indoors and severely disrupting daily routines.
Areas including Dera Murad Jamali, Meer Hassan Khan Khoso, Chattar, Manjho Shori, Baba Kot, Piru Pal, and Hamidabad have remained engulfed in thick fog from morning till late hours, reducing visibility to just a few feet. Traffic flow has been badly affected, raising the risk of road accidents.
Business activities have slowed significantly, with shopkeepers reporting a sharp decline in customers. Daily wage laborers, vendors, and working-class families are facing serious financial hardship due to reduced economic activity.
Educational activities have also suffered, as early morning travel has become difficult for students. Parents have expressed concern over children’s health, fearing the spread of seasonal illnesses. Public circles have urged authorities to announce school holidays or relax timings and take urgent relief measures for vulnerable communities.
