Zhob | Jan 11, 2026:
The electricity situation in Zhob has reached an alarming level, with prolonged outages and dangerously low voltage severely affecting businesses and livelihoods, according to local traders’ leader Abdul Jabbar “Tor” Mandokhail.
Speaking to media, Mandokhail said that power supply remained completely suspended throughout Saturday, while electricity restored on Sunday carried a voltage of only 106 volts, rendering it unusable. He stated that the crisis has paralyzed the working class, including electricians, motor winders, welders, tailors, carpenters, and other skilled professionals.
Low voltage has also caused damage to expensive machinery and equipment, resulting in financial losses for small businesses. Mandokhail warned that if the issue persists, unemployment and poverty in the area will worsen.
He urged senior WAPDA officials to immediately ensure full voltage supply in Zhob and ease load-shedding schedules. He specifically demanded uninterrupted electricity from 9am to 2pm and after 5pm, stressing that stable power supply is essential to protect jobs and sustain economic activity in the district.
