Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar on Monday held separate meetings with delegations from the Islamabad Bar Association, Gujrat Bar Association and Murree Bar Association, focusing on lawyers’ welfare and institutional development.
The Islamabad Bar Association delegation, led by Raja Rizwan Abbasi, Member Pakistan Bar Council, and Naeem Ali Gujjar, President Islamabad Bar Association, proposed the establishment of a Lawyers’ Academy. The federal minister approved the proposal in principle and assured early practical steps.
Discussions were also held on the recently inaugurated Lawyers’ Chambers Project. Senator Tarar approved the provision of a free Wi-Fi zone and a multipurpose hall for lawyers’ training, directing that these facilities be provided on a priority basis.
In meetings with the Gujrat and Murree bar associations, the minister assured the establishment of a NADRA desk, renovation of bar rooms, release of bar funds, facilitation in passport-related matters for lawyers, and continued engagement to resolve outstanding issues.
