Quetta, January 24:
Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that a quiet yet impactful transformation is underway in the province’s health sector, with tangible benefits now reaching the public, particularly in remote and underserved areas.
In a message shared on social media platform X, the chief minister stated that expanding basic healthcare facilities in far-flung regions remains a top government priority. He revealed that nearly 3,000 doctors have been recruited on a contract basis, enabling the activation of 164 Basic Health Units across Balochistan.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti noted that these initiatives are improving access to medical care in areas that previously lacked even basic health services. He said people living in extreme weather conditions, from harsh winters to scorching summers, are now able to receive treatment closer to their homes.
The chief minister emphasized that these reforms are not merely statistical achievements but represent real improvements in everyday lives. He added that health sector reforms will continue and expand further to ensure quality and timely healthcare for every citizen.
