Quetta, January 24:
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast cold and dry weather across most parts of Balochistan, with extremely cold conditions expected in northern and northwestern districts.
According to the forecast, light rain with thunder is expected in Chagai and Washuk districts during nighttime hours. From January 25 to 27, several districts including Gwadar, Kech, Panjgur, Khuzdar, Quetta, Zhob, Loralai and others may experience rain accompanied by strong winds.
Heavy rainfall is expected in some areas of Gwadar, Awaran, Chagai, Panjgur and Kech, raising concerns about flash flooding in streams and hilly regions. Meanwhile, snowfall is predicted in Quetta, Ziarat, Pishin, Chaman and surrounding areas, which could affect traffic due to slippery road conditions.
The department reported that Ziarat recorded the lowest temperature over the past 24 hours at minus 14 degrees Celsius. Authorities have been advised to take precautionary measures and remain alert to avoid any weather-related emergencies.
