Kanysh Satbayev Scientific Center Launched at NUST to Promote Joint Research

Islamabad, Feb 2, 2026: The Kanysh Satbayev Scientific and Educational Center was formally launched at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), marking a new chapter in academic and scientific cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.

The inauguration was led by Kazakhstan’s Minister for Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, alongside Federal Minister for Science and Technology Khalid Hussain Magsi. Senior academics, officials, and representatives from both countries attended the ceremony.

Addressing the event, Khalid Magsi said the center reflects Pakistan’s commitment to international academic engagement and knowledge exchange. He noted that the initiative would facilitate joint research, innovation, and educational collaboration while creating new opportunities for students and faculty.

Established in collaboration with Satbayev University of Kazakhstan, the center will serve as a hub for research projects, academic programs, seminars, and cultural activities. Special focus will be placed on the legacy of Kanysh Satbayev, a pioneer of geological sciences in Kazakhstan.

The center is expected to support joint degrees, exchanges, conferences, and innovation-driven projects, strengthening long-term institutional ties.
