Punjab police reported that a former constable involved in the sexual assault of a transgender individual was killed in a police encounter near Musi. The suspect had previously been convicted in 2016 for sexually assaulting and allegedly murdering a child but was later acquitted. Police confirmed the suspect was shot during a confrontation with officers in the A-Division area.
