Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti formally inaugurated the provincial polio eradication campaign, setting a target to vaccinate over 2.6 million children across the province. Speaking at the launch ceremony, the chief minister termed polio eradication a collective national responsibility and stressed that no child should be left unvaccinated. More than 11,000 vaccination teams, including fixed and transit units, are taking part in the campaign. He noted that no polio case had been reported in Balochistan during the past 15 months and that the virus had been eliminated from nearly 93 percent of the province. The chief minister said sustained coordination, community awareness, and parental cooperation were key to maintaining progress in 2026. He urged parents to ensure their children received polio drops, warning that missing even a single child could pose risks to society as a whole.
