Independent Report
Islamabad, Feb 4:
Advanced US weapons left behind after the American withdrawal from Afghanistan are being used in terrorist attacks inside Pakistan, according to an international media investigation. A detailed CNN report stated that the abandoned arms pose a serious security threat to Pakistan and other neighboring countries.
The report revealed that militant groups, including banned outfits, are using US-made assault rifles, machine guns, sniper rifles, and night-vision devices. Security officials confirmed that weapons recovered during counterterrorism operations bore US markings. Analysts warn that access to advanced weaponry has significantly increased the operational capability of terrorist groups, intensifying security challenges in Pakistan’s border regions.
