Islamabad, February 13, 2026: President Asif Ali Zardari has paid tribute to radio professionals and broadcasters on International Radio Day, underscoring radio’s continued relevance in the digital age.
In his official message, the President said radio remains a trusted source of credible information, public service broadcasting and cultural expression across Pakistan. He noted that this year’s global theme focuses on the relationship between radio and artificial intelligence, emphasizing that ethical and responsible use of emerging technologies can strengthen broadcasting standards without replacing editorial judgment and the human voice.
The President highlighted that Radio Pakistan broadcasts in 26 languages, ensuring nationwide outreach and inclusion. He also observed that radio listenership is witnessing renewed growth, particularly among younger audiences, despite global shifts in media consumption patterns.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting radio as a medium of trust, accessibility and national cohesion.
