Islamabad, February 12, 2026: President Asif Ali Zardari has congratulated the nation on the successful launch of Pakistan’s second indigenous Electro-Optical Satellite (EO-2), marking a significant milestone in the country’s space technology programme.
The President commended scientists, engineers and researchers of SUPARCO for their dedication and technical expertise in developing and launching the satellite. He described the achievement as a major step toward strengthening Pakistan’s capabilities in remote sensing, environmental monitoring and strategic planning.
President Zardari also expressed gratitude to the Government of China for its cooperation in the launch process, noting that Pakistan-China strategic partnership continues to expand in the fields of science and space technology.
Officials say the EO-2 satellite will enhance national capacity in agriculture assessment, disaster management and infrastructure monitoring, supporting sustainable development initiatives across the country.
