KP Governor Expresses Condolences on Assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader

Islamabad, March 4, 2026: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, accompanied by former Federal Minister Sajid Hussain Turi, visited the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Islamabad to express deep condolences on the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.

During the visit, the Governor met with Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam, offered prayers for the departed leader and other martyrs, and expressed solidarity on behalf of himself and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He described Ayatollah Khamenei’s assassination as a major loss for the Muslim Ummah and lauded his dedication and bravery in pursuit of a higher cause.
Governor Kundi emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering support for Iran, praised the Iranian government and people’s unity in safeguarding their sovereignty, and reaffirmed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s longstanding brotherly ties with the Iranian nation. The Iranian Ambassador thanked the Governor for his visit, highlighting the widespread grief across the Muslim world and condemning Israel’s role in the attack.
