Quetta (March 7): Governor of Balochistan Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has emphasized the need for a comprehensive and multidimensional review of the challenges facing Pakistan in light of the changing international political landscape and rising regional tensions.
In a statement issued on Friday, the governor said the government must strike a balance between long-term vision and national interests while addressing both internal and external challenges. He urged political leaders and bureaucrats to prioritize economic stability, regional cooperation, and institutional strengthening to effectively respond to the evolving situation.
Governor Mandokhail highlighted the growing tensions among Iran, the United States, and Israel, warning that the potential negative consequences of the conflict could affect Pakistan, particularly the economically vulnerable population of Balochistan. He stressed the importance of adopting concrete and practical measures to minimize the impact on ordinary citizens.
He noted that under the current challenging circumstances, it is crucial to ensure good governance, greater institutional transparency, uninterrupted supply of essential food items, control of rising prices, and strict measures against street crime.
The governor further stated that supporting local farmers and cultivators could help boost agricultural production, while the use of emergency reserves may temporarily address shortages of essential commodities. He also underlined the importance of launching effective public awareness campaigns regarding safety measures and the availability of resources.
Mandokhail called for intensified efforts to ensure political stability within the country and to promote economic activity, adding that good governance, transparency, and human development can play a vital role in overcoming the current challenges.
“In this complex situation, we must rise above personal interests and adopt a national outlook. Serious and responsible decisions are needed so that we can move forward together as a nation,” he concluded.
