Gilgit-Baltistan Cabinet Orders Judicial Probe into March 1 Violence

GILGIT, March 29: A special meeting of the Gilgit-Baltistan cabinet on Sunday strongly condemned the March 1 incidents and announced the formation of a high-level judicial commission to ensure a transparent investigation.
The session, jointly chaired by the caretaker chief minister and the federal minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives, terming it irreparable. The cabinet resolved that those responsible for violence and damage to public and private property would be brought to justice without delay.
Officials said CCTV footage and evidence have been collected, while law enforcement agencies are identifying individuals involved in incitement and vandalism. The cabinet emphasized that no innocent person would be targeted during legal کارروائی.
Religious leaders, civil society, and citizens were urged to support efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability across the region.
