Lahore, May 30, 2026: Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening long-term and stable relations with the United States during a meeting with the US Consul General in Lahore. The two sides discussed bilateral relations, trade, investment, parliamentary diplomacy and regional peace. Gillani stressed expanding cooperation in IT, energy, minerals, health, education and agriculture, noting the US as a key export market and economic partner for Pakistan. He also appreciated American investment contributing to job creation and economic growth. The Chairman highlighted the importance of parliamentary exchanges and praised the Pakistani diaspora in the United States. Both sides agreed on enhancing engagement for regional stability and mutually beneficial economic cooperation going forward.
