Independent Report
ISLAMABAD: Mazloom Awami Tehreek Pakistan has called for an independent and impartial investigation into the action taken against its Chairman, Haji Sadiq Khan Achakzai, demanding the release of his detained personal guards and party workers.
Speaking at a press conference at the National Press Club, the party’s central spokesperson, Asadullah Khan Haqqani, and other leaders alleged that cases registered against Achakzai’s associates following the recent Ziarat incident were politically motivated. They urged the government to ensure a transparent inquiry and remove obstacles to political activities.
The party also called for a judicial commission to investigate the incident, saying its recommendations should be implemented. It emphasized that dialogue, political engagement and cooperation with tribal elders were essential for restoring lasting peace in Balochistan.
The leaders further demanded greater opportunities for the people of Balochistan in education, employment and development, and said the benefits of major projects, including CPEC, should primarily reach local communities. They also urged authorities to ensure that Pakistani citizens were not harassed during the ongoing repatriation of undocumented Afghan nationals.
