Mardan: Feb 20. Umrah draw among heirs of martyred police, names of two lucky families revealed.
DPO Mardan congratulates families of martyrs, announces further welfare measures.
On Thursday,a grand ceremony was held at the Police Club in Mardan Police Lines, in which all heirs of martyred police participated. Umrah draw was held in the ceremony, in which the names of Constable Saeed-ul-Abraar Shaheed and Head Constable Ramzanullah Shaheed emerged. DPO Mardan Zahoor Babar Afridi congratulated both the families and paid tribute to their sacrifices.
Addressing the ceremony, DPO Mardan said that 124 martyrs of Mardan Police sacrificed their lives for peace, and as per the special instructions of IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed, no compromise will be made on the welfare of the heirs of the martyrs. He said that not only Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but the whole of Pakistan recognizes the sacrifices of our martyrs.
He further said that despite limited resources, all possible help is being provided to the families of martyrs, as it is our duty and the martyrs owe us. The police are providing special packages for the families of martyrs, including the martyrs package, Ramadan and Eid packages, and scholarships for children in higher educational institutions. Moreover, it has been decided to increase the food packages for the families of martyrs.
The DPO said that in the year 2024, 4 FCs were recruited in the martyrs quota while papers have been submitted for 6 PSIs. A total of 82 heirs of martyrs have been given jobs in the police. ASI Suleman Khan, in-charge of the martyrs desk, and Junior Clerk Uzma are always available to resolve the problems of the heirs. Agreements have been signed with educational institutions, as a result of which the children of martyrs are getting the best educational facilities.
The DPO assured the heirs that if they face any kind of problem, they should approach the nearest police station, DSP office, SP office or DPO office, where they will be given full respect and protocol. He said that this is not a favor to anyone but the martyrs’ debt to us and our responsibility.
