Suspension of medical services intolerable: Reform agenda would be completed in Health Dept. taking all stakeholders on board, says GoB spokesman

QUETTA: The spokesman, Government of Balochistan, Shahid Rind has categorically stated that the ongoing reforms in health department are in the larger public interest and the process would remain continued anyway.
He said that work would be done for resolving the genuine issues of Health department’s employees under a coalescent procedure. He also asserted that the reforms agenda would be completed in the health sector taking all stakeholders in confidence.
He also asserted that the provision of uninterrupted healthcare facilities would be ensured in the hospitals.
In an official statement issued here on Wednesday, the spokesman maintained that all matters have been settled between the government and doctors and other health staff on strike, amicably.
While the healthcare services have been restored following end of the strike by Grand Health Alliance, the spokesman mentioned that it has been made assurance to refrain from observing any strike and protest in future.
He said that PMA played the role of arbitrator in the negotiations between the GHA and provincial government.
It was made clear that the orders of Balochistan High Court would be implemented in true letter and spirit.
The spokesman said that the Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Health Minister, Bakht Muhammad Kakar are determined to provide quality health services to the people.
He said that the reforms continued in health sector are in the larger public interest, and as such the process would remain continued.
He said that the provincial government has made it clear that the public sector hospitals would be made exemplary centers of public service.
He also assured that the fair use of public resources would be ensured. He asserted that no strike and anti-law action would be accepted at all in future.
He said that the government is firm to establish its writ, and all the institutions would be run according to the law and constitution.
He said that the suspension of healthcare services is not tolerable at all, and adding he assured to ensure uninterrupted provision of services to the general public in hospitals.
