Address to Balochistan Strategy Summit: Governor Balochistan calls for giving mining sector status of industry at federal level

QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has stated that the longstanding issues of mine owners would be resolved after giving the status of industry to mining sector in the province.
He stressed the need to provide necessary facilities to the business community and traders besides giving them access to the markets of other countries. He said that we can open up new avenues of economy by supporting the traders.
He also urged the business community to spread its activities under the public-private partnership.
The Governor was addressing the Balochistan Strategy Summit held under the auspices of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) in Karachi on Wednesday.
The office bearers of FPCCI and other business leaders from Balochistan and other parts of the country participated in the summit. Prominent among them were: Patron in chief of United Business Group, S M. Tanveer, President, Atif Ikran Sheikh, former caretaker Chief Minister, Allauddin Marri, Ghulam Farooq Khilji, Mian Zahid Hussain, Daroo Khan Achakzai, Akhtar Muhammad Kakar, Syed Sarwar Agha and others.
Addressing the summit, Governor said that he has established close contacts with all traders and industrialists including the small and big ones from the day one.
He said that it is very necessary to provide necessary facilities to the traders and access of markets of other countries to them so as to end severe poverty, backwardness and unemployment from the province.
He said that he understands the challenges being faced by the traders and business community, and is determined to address them at every forum.
He exhorted the investors to spread their economic and trade activities to education, health and other sectors all over the province under public private partnership.
He said that the present government is committed to provide protection to the national and international investors in the province.
This is a proven fact that we can end unemployment and poverty with support and guidance of the private sector, he maintained.
In addition to this, the federal government is also determined to create such a conducive environment which may promote new opportunities and create easiness for the investors, he maintained.
He said that he fully believes that we can open new avenues of economy for the country by supporting the traders and industrialists.
The Governor also said that the bright future of Pakistan is linked with Balochistan. He also stressed the need to prepare a comprehensive policy for the people who are genuinely linked with the border trade.
