Center for Excellence would prove to be milestone for solution to issue of sustainable energy: Governor

QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has stated that the initiation of “Balochistan Center for Excellence on Renewable Energy” would prove to be an important milestone in finding solution to the issue of sustainable energy in the province.
He said that the remarkable partnership between Pakistan and Germany shows their joint resolve for socio-economic development and presenting solution to the sustainable development.
He said Balochistan Rural Support Programme is the only institution, which has access to almost every district of the province. So, all team of BRSP deserves appreciation.
The Governor was addressing the ceremony of launching of the Balochistan Center for Excellence on Renewable Energy here at the Governor House on Monday.
Present on the occasion were Vice Chancellor of BUITEMS, Professor Dr Khalid Hafeez, Vice Chancellor of Balochistan University, Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Bazai, Vice Chancellor, Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University, Dr. Rubina Mushtaq, Accountant General Balochistan, Nasarullah Jan, Additional Secretary Energy, Sahibzada Najeebullah, Chairman BRSP, Malik Anwar Saleem Kasi, Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Tahir Rasheed, religious leaders, representatives from the minorities and civil society besides people belonging to different shades of life.
Addressing the ceremony, Governor said that the establishment of Balochistan Center for Excellence is a brilliant start, which would play an important role in sustainable development of the province.
He said that this important initiative was possible between BATRIP Foundation and BUITEMS through the BRSP.
He also said that overcoming the energy crisis is actually the beginning of the journey towards a safe future.
The Governor appreciated the endeavours of BRSP and said that it has always been a mobilized force in socio-economic development of the province.
He said that this institution has brought hundreds of development projects in the province, which casted positive impacts on lives of the people.
He assured to take concrete steps to benefit the people from fruits of every project of the BRSP and PATRIP Foundation.
He also appreciated the resolve of Germany for socio-economic development of the province.
He said that the provincial government is determined for full cooperation.
In the end, Governor distributed commemorative shields among the guests and organizers of the event.
